The Chinese government requires residents of many countries to obtain a temporary visa before entering China. It is very important to apply for a visa at least 90 days prior to departure. For information on Chinese visa policies and procedures, visit http://cs.mfa.gov.cn/wgrlh/lhqz/lhqzjjs/t1095035.shtml.
Up to now, the People’s Republic of China and the following 93 foreign countries have concluded agreements on mutual visa exemption (List of exempt foreign countries). According to the agreements, holders of valid specified passports are permitted to stay for less than 30 days upon entry into the other contracting country.
